Workshops :: Hand-built Raku

Hand-built Raku sculpture

Hand-built Raku Workshop:
This 2-day $90 workshop focused on the construction of hand-built Raku sculpture.  The fee covered all that was needed for both days.

Obviously the stress of Raku firing can cause major destruction to a piece that has not been constructed well or with the wrong material.
Even when constructed well, out of the right clay body, the firing may need to be modified for success

Session 1: Saturday, May 31, 2008 (10 a.m. - 6 p.m.)
Consisted of a construction demonstration and hands on help constructing a sculpture to be fired Session 2.

Session 2: Saturday, June 14, 2008 (10 a.m. - 6 p.m.)
Firing day.  We glazed and fired all the sculpture constructed during Session 1.  The firing lasted until the firing was done.
